Our Backpack Ranges Compared

Discovery: Backpacks

Our Discovery range covers the bigger end of the collection. The Discovery 45L Backpack opens fully down the side and has compression straps inside, so you pack it flat like a suitcase rather than dropping things in from the top; it measures 55 x 35 x 24 cm and weighs 1.47 kg. For longer trips the 60L Hybrid Duffle is the largest at 60 x 35.5 x 28.5 cm and 2.226 kg, with a water-repellent finish and the option to carry it as a backpack or by the duffel handles.

The two smaller Discovery bags suit day use and short stays. The 28L is 45 x 31 x 20 cm with a sleeve on the back that slides over a suitcase handle, and the Discovery Light is the lightest in the range at 1 kg and 24L, with dedicated pockets for a charger and cables.

Icon: Backpacks

The Icon Backpack is the one to carry to work: 42 x 31 x 18 cm, 0.9 kg, room for both 14" and 16" devices, seven internal pockets and a mesh back panel. If you'd rather carry by hand some days, the Icon 2-in-1 Tote hides its straps away and holds laptops up to 14" at 37 x 40 x 14 cm and 0.72 kg. The Drawstring is the most casual of the three, with two external bottle holders and a padded 14" laptop sleeve inside, at 27.5 x 14.5 x 39 cm.

Urban Core: Backpacks

Both Urban Core bags are built in Cordura with breathable mesh backs, and the choice is mainly about how much you want to carry. The Urban Core Rolltop Backpack is 47 x 13 x 43 cm and 0.7 kg, takes laptops up to 16", and its rolltop closure expands when you need the extra depth. The Zip Top is smaller and lighter at 42 x 27.5 x 13.5 cm and 0.6 kg, water-repellent, with a padded 14" laptop sleeve and five pockets to keep smaller things separate.

Essential: Backpacks

Both our Essential bags are made in recycled ripstop. The Kids Essential Backpack is 35 x 32 x 12 cm and 0.48 kg, with a chest buckle and padded straps for younger children, a grab handle, a detachable parent assistance strap and a water-resistant finish. The adult 2-in-1 Tote weighs 0.56 kg at 43 x 40 x 14 cm, switches between tote and backpack, and has three internal slip pockets plus space for a laptop.

Urban Light: Backpacks

Our Urban Light backpack packs like a small suitcase: it opens flat, and the gusset detaches when you want to slim it down or expand it. It is 41.5 x 28 x 15 cm and 0.9 kg in recycled polyester, with a hidden pocket for passport and phone, and it fits under the seat on airlines, which makes it a good match for short-haul trips.
